FAR Nor Cal

I have cruised through the forum and notriced that there are few posts from people in the northern part of Nor Cal...

Sooo... ahem- is their anyone out there from north of Sacramento??? I myself am from Redding... and I am new here to OH... and need some pals... I am so so lost on surgery info too.. ah!

Nor Cal but Bay Area here.  Maureen is also from Redding and she is a great gal and so successful and inspirational too.  On top of the she is a hoot.  I'll send her message on Facebook in the event she doesn't check in on OH.

We have our Nor Cal luncheon next Sat in Concord, and it goes without saying that you are always welcome.  We have a wonderful group of folks who truly enjoy each other's company, friendship and offer great support. See my post a little ways down on the Cali forum for more details.

We're here to help you anytime, so just ask questions and my advice is to read the blogs of OH folks, lots of honest information there.

Welcome!  I'm about 2 1/2 hours south of you in Sacramento but I also travel to the Nor Cali Luncheon in Concord.  I suggest you find a support group in Redding...ask your primary physican or go on the internet...best place in the world to get information.  There are alot of great people on OH, here in CA forum plus the specific surgery type forums....ask your questions...all questions are smart questions if you don't know the answer ;-)

Hello, I am guilty, I lurk on here often but I hardly post. I am about 4 hours west of you in Fortuna. I had surgery 03-02-09 and I have lost 122 pounds. I go for my 1 year on Monday and I am feeling great. I used to take 55 units of insulin daily and now I don't take any! I went from a size 26 to currently 12-14, which I haven't worn since high school. I was hardly able to walk 20 feet before now I can do 2 miles no problem. Yeah, this works it really does!!
