I am so excited!!! I just got the call from Pacific Bariatric and my surgery is scheduled for next Thursday the 18th.

For those of you who have already gone through this, can you please tell me what I need to have at home for when I come back from surgery.  I know they give a list, but sometimes they aren't all that accurate.

Thanks!!!

Congratulations on getting your surgery date!  I can imagine how excited you are...and only having to wait a week...now that is awesome ;-)

You will be on clear liquids (broth, Crystal Lite, etc) for the first few days to a week and then liquids (cream soups, cream of wheat, protein shakes (if your doc allows them) etc for a couple of weeks.  Just remember not to push the 'agenda' of foods...you need to take all the time they tell you at each 'stage' for your pouch to heal properly.  Stage 2 gets boring quickly but just remember, you need to let that pouch HEAL!

Be sure to keep us updated on your progress...we'll be all movin' on down the Loser's Bench just to make a spot for you ;-)
Again..,congrats!

Congratulations!!! You are in awesome hands with Pacific Bariatric. I am a Zorn Baby. lol As far as my experience, I was on liquids for 2 weeks, then slowly introduced mushy, then soft foods.

As far as what to have at home, my shopping list consisted of:

Chicken broth
beef broth
Lots of bottled water
SF Jello
Protein powders/drinks

Congrats to you on getting your date.  How exciting.  The one thing I couldn't live without when I got home was Sugar Free Popcicles.  Best of luck to you and I hope you have a speedy...pain free recovery.  Remember to walk, sip, walk, sip etc.

I totally know what you mean about the waiting. I still feel like it's going to take forever for Weds. to get here. I still won't believe it until I am taken into the OR. Then I will relax and enjoy the rest of ride.

Good luck on your appeal.
