MsBlues is back and feeling overwhelmed
Hi all,
I am back from Oahu. The vacation was not at all relaxing as my mom wanted to see every possible attraction that we could in 7 days. Plus my husband was sick while we were there. I was glad to see my mom have a good time and get to all the attractions she wanted to. Unfortunately I awoke to an alarm clock every morning to stick with her written out schedule. I did a tiny bit of snorkeling, which is something I absolutely love doing. I did do a ton of walking as my mom drive her scooter at the maximum speed. I left 3 pounds in Hawaii.
12 hours after we arrived home, my husband and I went to Arizona to visit both sides of our family. While we were with his aunts, we received a phone call that Jim's father is in the ICU in Klamath Falls, OR. He has severe pneumonia and had a heart attack. We're in a wait and see stage as he's still in a semi-coma, but stable condition. He seems to be getting better, but we shall see.
My mom has already started her battery of tests to see whats going on with her cancer. She had a transfusion today because her iron count was 7.3. Ugh!
My first day back at work I also learned 2 people I manage are resigning to take other jobs. All of our jobs end on November 30th because of legislative term limits. I am happy they have jobs, but I started to feel panic at the idea of being out of work.
Life is challenging me a lot right now. I can't control a lot of things, but just have to live day by day and try not to think of everything or all the possible outcomes. I have to say I really want to pig out, but I am not. SIGH!
I am glad I am home. I am so ready to figure out how to get more exercise in my life.

Ms. Blues -
Welcome home. Sorry to hear your husband was sick while in Hawaii. Unfortunatley having to wake up to an alarm clock while on vacation would be a downer, but considering all that your mother is going thru medically you will one day look back and cherish the fact you spent this time with her.
You, Jim and your families are in my thoughts and prayers for Jims father to recover. Life is challenging for many people and it seems as if you are getting more than your fair share. Keep your head up, think positive thoughts and all will turn out for the better. Sometimes we just have to go through these rough spots to get to where we are meant to be.
Nice to know that you left 3 lbs. in Hawaii. That must be a wonderful feeling to be on vacation and not gain any weight.
Welcome back,

Welcome Home!!
Sure have missed your smiling silhouette here on OH!! I totally agree with what Annette said, so I won't repeat it. How awesome to have gotten some snorkeling in! I have always wanted to do that, but I don't even know how to swim! I know shame on me. I will be 42 this year, I want to learn this year. I can totally understand your mom wanting to get the most out of this trip and good for mom, driving while you jogged to keep up!! LOL...
I am sorry to hear about Jim's father. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers, along with your mom and whole family.
I am confident with your work background and supervisory skills, you will find something in the work force, once your current position ends. You are an awesome woman, a fighter, smart and beautiful (inside and out). You will be getting a ton of offers.
Yay, for you choosing not to take the easy way out and pig out. I am glad you identified the trigger and are aware that it is there, but you chose not to feed it.
Hang in there, sweetheart, it will get better. Or at least each piece of the puzzle will be resolved in due time. Patience and understanding go hand in hand.
Huge hugs,
Michelle

It sure is good C'ING LESS OF ME!

It sure is good C'ING LESS OF ME!
We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they
ALL exist very nicely in the same box.

Hi all,
Thanks for the kind support. I am just allowing myself to feel my feelings and not react to them by eating and trying to change how I feel. I know exercise will make me feel better, not empty calories. I ate very healthy today so far and want to keep it up.
I want to go to this month's luncheon. I need to find the date. I think I have it on a piece of paper, but has a reminder message gone out yet?
Thanks again,
MsBlues
