Welcome to this wet thursday morning....

The weekend in getting closer, and I am happy about that, because I am off this weekend. YEAH FOR ME!!!!!

My lap top plug dead on monday, so I have to get a new one. I looked on line but I am a DORK when it comes to that type of stuff, so my blond came out big time looking all that stuff. UGH! So I had to turn on the big girl to play on line, and guess what I found out? I miss useing this big girl. She is much faster or seems that way.

So what has everyone been up too? Me, I had two days off so on tuesday I went for a run/walk down to the wild life park. It was suck a nice relaxing hour. I plan on going back when spring is in full swing to see all they have to office. I read a flyer that say they doing "night Owl" walks and that seems like it would be a blast, so I am going to check into that. I was talking to a ranger and he told me that in a few more weeks the schools will start coming durning the day and that I should stop by when they are there because the in door part of the park is open they have so much to see inside. I gave him my phone number and asked him to call me when they start going. I would love to check it all out.

Good Morning Lu and Cali Friends,

Sounds like your run/walk was a great one Lu and I think it's so much fun to discover things right close to home that you never knew.

Well, still trying to get caught up at work as I will be flying to Boston on Sunday for training and will be away from work all week.  I have never been to Boston so I am looking forward to seeing a few historical sites.  I will have a car and one of my co-workers and I will be trying to take in some sites after our training days.

The rain has stopped for now but it's cold.  Gonna head to a hot shower.

I'm so jealous. I love Boston and New England in general. I so wish I could go with you. There is so much to see. Have a great time and be careful. It looked like they were getting snow in that area today. Make sure you bring some warm clothes just in case. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Good Morning Lu and Cali Crew!

It is a beautiful, nearly cloud-free day up here in the high desert!

I spoke with Nathalie last night and she told me that they were able to dialate the opening a tiny bit, enough to get some liquid through. They will stretch it again in 3 weeks. They also found that she had a ulcer at the site as well. On top of that, she was extremely dehydrated. She told me, that when she does something she does it good! Lol.... She is doing much better now. She was able to have clear liquids and upgrade to full liquids. She will be returning home today. So I am sure she will be on to let everybody know how she is. Once again, a huge thank you to everybody that kept her in your thoughts and prayers and took the time to reply to posts. It really ment a lot to her and kept her spirits up while she was in the hospital.

I, have had a kind of set back with my husband. When I had my appendix out, a couple of weeks ago, my husband had to call out to be with me during surgery and the next day to bring me home. His employer decided that his job was more important than taking care of his wife and let him go. So we are going through a trial right now, with his unemployment. As he is older (almost 58), I know it will be harder for him to find a job, of any kind. So I am asking please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

I am so sorry to hear your husband was let go to care for you.  I really dislike hearing people being treated like this. We now have the Family Leave and Medical Act laws which are supposed to protect us from being fired for taking care of an immediate family member.

With unemployment, you can also call your Assemblymember or State Senator for help in going through the process. The problem right now is if your unemployment claim isn't "easy", it has to go through this awfully long hearing process, but calling your elected representatives can help move your case through the process more quickly. We've helped many people through our office get through the system faster. The problem with EDD is they are way understaffed and calling their 800 number will take forever.

Michelle, I am so sorry that your husband lost his job. Some people are just so stupid! If that had happened to your husbands boss he would have taken the time off.

So today is laundry day. I had the grand kids Tues and Wed. so I have to get things straightened up from them. It is really nice outside so I am going to try and get a walk in too.

Good Morning Everyone,

Just having a lazy afternoon. Went to the gym this morning and had a great workout with my trainer. I so love him, but damn he is expensive. Thank goodness they have sales at the gym for training sessions. Today is my first of 7 days off. YEAH for me. Hopefully the weather is good and I can get more work done in the yard, and get a walk or 2 in. I found out today, that a friend of mine from Maine is going to be in the Bay area this weekend. I am so excited. We are going to try and get together. I haven't seen her since I moved back here 2 years ago. Not much else planned, maybe get a massage, if I can get an appointment. I hope you all have a great day!!!

I brought all my clothes to change into for the gym, but I am not wanting to go. It's so !@#$ busy and I am not in the mood to deal with all the noise and commotion. I am going to take a walk instead and hit my hand weights when I get home. Today was not an easy day. I am trying to increase a very underpaid employee's salary and I had a bit of a disagreement with another person I manage today. It just was one of those days where things just felt tedious. Oh well. I think that's why facing a noisy crowded gym isn't appealing to me right now.
