Advice
I had the lapband surgery on 2/18/10. So, it has literally been one week on my own. I constantly experience being lightheaded or dizzy. Can anyone please advice me as to how to get through this? It freaks me out. I am having no other problems that I am aware of except this. If I can get through this, I will be functional again. THX.
Hello there and welcome to the losers bench.
I do not know much about the lap band but I can share that when I was feeling lightheaded and dizzy, my surgeon told me that I was not getting in enough fluids. Are you getting in plenty of fluids?
You may want to attend the LB Coffee on Saturday. There are many people from the surrounding areas that go. It will be at the Starbucks on Bellflower & Spring in the Lowes shopping center. It begins at 10:00 am - around noonish. You will find many people here that have had different versions of WLS.
I also live in Lakewood, but will be unable to attend the coffee this weekend. The people here are just a great group. Do not be afraid to show up and just introduce yourself. There is also a clothing exchange and this is a great thing as you will be going through clothes quickly.
Best of luck to you on your journey. Do not be a stranger, be sure to visit ofter. On Wednesdays we have a Wacky Weigh in Wednesday (WWW). This is where you can post your loss or gain if you wish to participate. There is no pressure, no judgment. Participate if you like and if not, be sure to visit often.

Hi Annette.
Thanks so much for the advice.
I will try increasing my water.
I really appreciate the additional information as well. Being the newcomer to such an overwhelming process is quite frightening and since failure is not an option, I need to become a quick study.
Thanks for the heads up for this Saturday's mtg. I will try to attend. I definitely would love to talk to the "veterans".
Thanks again for making me feel so welcomed!
