6 Mos. blood work
Good Morning / Afternoon Everyone -
Thought I would post about my 6 mos. blood work results
I had my blood work done in January and my 6 mos appt. with the surgeon as well. Dr. Ali told me all was well with my blood work and the rate of weight loss I have had is very good as well.
Yesterday I had my appt. with my PCP to go over my blood work. She was very happy and pleased with my weight loss as well as my test results. All my levels are normal and HBP is normal. My PCP took me off of 2 medications yesterday. My house is like a pharmacy between DH & his diabetes, cholesterol, HPB, 2 kids w/asthma and all the medications I take or was taking.
Prior to surgery I was taking 11 different medications for a total of 21 pills a day. Vitamins were not even a thought as I felt I took enough crap to feed a small army - LOL
Today 7 mos. post op I am only on 3 medications for a total of 4 pills a day. I also take a multi-vitamin, Iron, B-12, Calcium, Biotin & Vitamin E
In 3 mos. we will determine if I get off of 2 of the medications entirely. There is 1 I take which I call my happy pill and will probably continue to take that forever. Trust me, I like me on this pill and feel you like me on this pill as well. - LOL
I am so very grateful for my RNY. I wish I had done it sooner, but no regrets, it is done now and I am moving forward with my new healthier happy life.
When I asked my hubby last night what he thought about me getting off more medications he gave me a big ol bear hug and kiss and said "You know I love you regardless of being fat, thin, in between, on med's or off meds. I couldn't imagine my life without you in it". What a guy. I love him just as much.
That's all for today, just wanted to share my good news from my 6 mos. appt.

That is great Annette! I know I am off of all of my meds except my anti-depressants. I promised my husband years ago I would never try and get off them again! It is great to be off all of the other stuff. Is is great to have such a wonderful husband. Mine is very supportive too, we are very blessed! I know I feel like my life is the best it has ever been right now!
Hey Annette,
Congratulations on your progress. It's exciting when your doctor lowers the dosage or takes you off medications. It's nice to visit the pharmacy less often and spend less for co-pays!! I have my appointment and a blood test check with my diabetes doc next month. I am hoping for good things.
Take Care,
MsBlues
