Carnie Wilson and her weight gain!
Yup...Carnie Wilson turns to Dr. Oz for advice.....
Lesson learned....There are many successful WLS stories and there are certainly challenging ones too. Check out the link for additional information on Carnie's battle with weight gain and her story http://www.thatsfit.com/2010/02/04/carnie-wilson-turns-to-dr -oz-for-weight-loss-advice/?icid=main%7Chtmlws-main-n%7Cdl5% 7Clink2%7Chttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.thatsfit.com%2F2010%2F02%2F04%2Fc arnie-wilson-turns-to-dr-oz-for-weight-loss-advice%2F
Once again, I'm almost 4 years out and IT'S A CHALLENGE TO NOT GAIN ADDITIONAL WEIGHT!!! My message to all the newbies is.....You got to change eating habits by chosing better foods, exercising, etc.
If it were me, and I had a crapload of money - I wouldn't be partying or anything, I'd be spending it on the best bariatric products out there! Of course a OH message board weekly raffle for a big package or bariatriceating.com gift card would be nice too ^_^ - LOL any volunteers? xD

I don't know all the details of her story, but I do agree with you about change. In order to be sucessful YOU HAVE TO CHANGE.
Your eating habits, and food choices need to change.
Your exercise habits need to change.
Your lifestyle has to change.
The way you think about yourself, food, and your health has to change.
This is one of the first things I try to emphasize to people who talk to me about having WLS.
Even now at over 2 years out, I still struggle with Old Fat Monica. She still wants to eat cookies. She still tells me I'm obese. She would rather watch TV than go out and run. I have to constantly be on her butt and remind her who is in charge now.

I have to constantly tell that part of my brain that wants to munch through the day at work and at night to go away!!! I hate it.

I wish nothing but good things for Carnie and all of us who have decided this is a battle worth fighting.

It is so sad that a lot of people will take joy in the fact that she has gained weight. It seems that some people have to tell me how many people they know who gained the weight back and so will I, or so and so's cousin died because of the surgery. I always tell them that I know this is not a magic bullet and it is up to me to keep the weight off. That usually takes the joy right out of them. I read the article and it was very good. I learned a couple of new things as well.
Thanks for sharing this story with us and giving us your expert advice Gus! It is always nice to hear from the voice of experience!
