Red Ribbon ~~ This Saturday!

This Saturday the AIDS Marathon training group will be wearing RED and creating a "red ribbon" during our 20 mile training run through Griffith Park, Burbank, Glendale, and Toluca Lake to show support of those who we are running for.

Volunteers and supporters are needed!!!!!!  We will be starting at 7am, and the last group will finish about 2pm.  Wear something red and come out and join the fun.  You can cheer on runners or hand ou****er. You don't have to commit for the whole day....any time you can give is appreciated!   For those runners here.....why don't you bring your workout to Griffith Park and join me for a few miles (Kimmie......Monica P)????  I believe that Lena will also be doing her 20 mile run that morning with us (Fake @$$ Lola...where have you been hiding?) and Kevin will be doing about 10 miles or helping hand ou****er.   If you haven't had the chance to come out to Griffith Park....come out and meet our very own Coach Scott who has given up so many hours through the years and trained so many of us OH members to complete a marathon (but be careful.....he might convince YOU to be next!!!!).

I also want to thank everyone for your donations and support over the last few months.  I have officially gone OVER my fundraising minimum and have raised $1640.00 for Aids Project Los Angeles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Woooohooooooo!!!!!!!!!!  After this weekends run, I have just a few short (10 mile runs) and one LONG 23 mile run.....then it's Marathon Day!!!!!

Kirsten,

I am so proud of you as you should be with yourself!  You go girl!!!

Sorry, I will not be able to join you this Saturday (water duty or running).  I have a hair appointment that got changed to that morning.  By the time I get out of my appt and head to the opposite side of town, you guys will probably have finished or close.

Kimmie

Well I guess that hair appointment won't stand in the way of doing the race with Monica the next day after all????  :-P

Yes, you are right about that.  Grooming my luscious locs will not be a conflict with Sunday's race; but paying the entrance fee will.  Care to pass the hat?

I do need to run about 4-5 miles, will there be slow-pokes I can run with?

I will be one of those slow pokes this week!  Our group is slowing down yet another minute per mile.  We will be doing 16 min miles....I believe at either a 2/2 or 2/3.  Sound good?

I'm sure if you are only doing 4-5 then you could keep up!  Come run a few miles with me and keep me company.  We're running.....rain or shine (and from what I hear it will most likely be rain....yikes!)
