Hi There,
I had Lap/RNY w/ no drains in or out of hospital. I took 3 weeks off just so I could do the liquid part of the diet at home. I also have a desk job and could have gone back within a week. I was up and walking the halls 4-5 hrs. after surgery. Once home, I started walking to the end of the block and back 2-3 times a day.
I do not do any rigorous exercise. I walk about 1 mile at least 3-4 times a week.
Best of luck on your revision. Please keep us posted.

I had my RNY on 6/22/09.
1. I was off work for 6 weeks. I have a sometimes very stressful desk job and commute on the bus an hour from home, so needed the time to make sure I was going to be able to survive the day since there are no mid afternoon busses home.
2. Lap, and no drains in or out of the hospital.
3. Walking 4 hours after surgery... I bought fit flops and walked around my complex pretty much the day I got home since that felt so much better to me than sitting or laying down. I started swimming and exercising with rubber-bands and light weights as soon as my little steri-strips came off (I picked at them since I was antsy!)... about 2 weeks... started out slow and worked it out.
All the best to you on this next part of your WLS journey!!!
