Today was the first I've read of this. (just to show you how knowledgeable I am on current events!)

Apparently the First Lady, Michelle Obama has made childhood obesity one of her causes. I think such a campaign is long overdue, I was a fat child, teenager, and adult. Mostly because my mom was uneducated about cooking healthy and proper portion sizes.

The article: http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/parenting/is-it-okay-to-talk- about-your-daughters-weight-if-it-s-for-the-national-good-57 9635/

Mrs. Obama has come under fire by critics for mentioning her own daughters and their weight. Not sure how I feel about that. As a daughter I would have been mortified, but now as an adult I understand that just talking openly about things brings much freedom and can even remove the weight of shame or embarrassment.

Thoughts? Comments?

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

The only thought I have on that is that the poor girls will be looked at by the world constantly. Prolly be measured mently on wonder if they lost any or if they gained any. It's too bad she couldn't have said something about herself as a child and taken the focus off the girls...

My thoughts.

Women are angels.
...and when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly...on a broomstick.

We are flexible.

Well I love Michelle almost more then my own mother who didn't have a clue how to address my weight issues.  I think Michelle is up to the challenge and as a FAT child I might not have like it but how I read she put it wouldn't have even flinched.
