Anyone in SD have surgery at Balboa?

Hi I'm new to the board and I am.......well new to all of this actually. I'm in san Diego and I'll be meeting with the surgeon on the Feb. 4th for my first consult. I was just wondering if anyone here has been through this at Balboa and if you can tell me what to expect. Thanks in advance for your input.

I just wanted to say hi and welcome to the Cali board. Which doctor/ hopsital are you going to? I am having surgery at Scripps Mercy. I hope that someone pipes in with some info on the doc in Balboa for ya. (sorry  I can't be of help)

I hope that you post here more since this board is great with giving help. I have been on here the last year for support throughout my journey. They are a great group of people. Also I hope your consult goes great :)

   Thanks so much for the post. I'll be going to Balboa and meeting with the bariatric team there. I am not sure which doctor will be assigned to my case as of yet. I'm excited to have found this board. I've read over countless posts and have already received so much information. In fact, it was this board that got me interested in the VSG procedure. I didn't even know about it until I read about it on here.  I'm excited and scared. It has been a long road and a really hard decision for me to make, but I think I am finally making the right one.

Hi there. I will be having my surgery at Balboa sometime around March/April. I have been doing all of my appointments etc. The surgeon I met with was Dr. Gallus. I have two more appointments and I will be done with all of my preop requirements (well  almost I am currently trying to lose the 10lbs. required before surgery. I too am going to the VSG. There is a specific VSG message board that I get a lot of info from. I have been talking to a few of the ladies that have already had surgery at Balboa and they have been a wealth of information.
