The doc usually give you a prescrip. while you are in the hospital, and have your s.o. or hubby or whoever drop it off, and it should be at the house when you get home. Depending on your pain threshold and desire to take hospital pain meds, they can dole out some pretty severe stuff. The stuff I had was $$$, and gave me the freakiest nightmares, I stopped using it after one night. I switched to liquid tylenol, and slept much better. It's all a learning experience. Good luck, things have a way of working out for the best! Keep us posted on your journey!
Hi Track,
Have a quick question for you that you replied to another person regarding pain meds. You said you took liquid tylenol for pain. Do you take the children's one or do they have an adult liquid tylenol as well? I looked at Walgreen's for adult liquid tylenol but didn't see any. Thanks.
Terri

I was given 2 percosets for the drive home and a prescription for 60. I still have some left.
I was able to swallow them whole becausse I found them crushed too gross. I had no problems swallowing. Everyone is different, you really won't know untill the time comes. I have heard there is a liquid pain medicine called Loritrab (sp?) but I did not need it.
