Are there ever any lunch, dinner, coffee, etc get togethers that are in the Monterey Area..

I live in Seaside, and I see all these things going on around me, (hours and hours away) and I haven't stumbled on anything or anyone getting together close to where I live..

Hmmmmmm

If there isn't, how would I go about offering to set up a gathering for the Monterey Area???

I know there are people in your area like Jaime and DeAnna and Lunawillow does bay area meet and greet things. I know it kind of sucks because you are in one of those not quite areas in terms of get togethers like I am out in the desert. I have to always travel for everything if I want to go somewhere and I hate driving on the LA freeways and you are talking about a native SF'er who should not be scared cuz the traffic sucks up there too! You should start posting for a get together in your area and see who comes out of the woodworks!

Thanks so much hun.. I am origionally from Tucson, and I am here in a not so big town, and I am NOT used to it.. I too have to travel a lot, especially for medical appts for my son.. He has to be seen at Stanford Hospital...

I don't mind driving here and there, but most of the meet and greets have been in places that take me more than 5-6 hours to go to.. LOL with a DH in the Navy, and gone a lot, that mean 5 kids to take up, and it ends up being quite pricy when that happens..

I appreciate your info, and will be looking into starting one soon.. I met DeAnna and we are supposed to get together soon. So that will be nice for now, as I don't know many people here yet..

Wow 5 kids???? YIKES!!!! I have never met DeAnna myself...but she sure is a sweetie on line here. I hope that you two can strike up a good friendship and get some others in your area going to do things. It is hard not having support and having to be a single parent sometimes. I do not know how you military family people do it. Vicki M who's husband did 2 tours over in Iraq was a super duper trooper of a mom/dad through it all....my hat is off to all you military wives who have to wear both hats!
