Well I am 4 days into my post op and wow they said it would be tough but this has been quite the ride. The clear liquid diet I feel like there are little to no options in making the first 10 days a bit more bearable Does anyone have any suggestions for recipes? Thanks

Hey There
Welsome to the Cali Board and congrats as you begin your journey.  All I have to say is SUGAR FREE POPSICLES - and SF FF JEllo and Pudding - those were my lifesavers right after surgery - especially the popsicles.,....just follow  your Drs protocol and you will do great.,  hang in there and remember we are all here for support - good luck to you.

Hi Mary and welcome to the Cali board. I have to echo Jean's suggestions about the sf popsicles and sf ff jello and pudding. I still eat them when I want something "sweet". =)

Welcome!

I use DaVinci sugar free syrups in my water and protein shakes for different flavors.

Whey Protein shake:
1 scoop powder
2 squirts hazelnut DaVinci sugar free syrup
1/4 tsp decaf instant coffee
2 oz soy slender
14 oz water

Shake well and enjoy!
You can add any of 50 flavors of SF syrups.  Torani also has sugar free syrups.

Hi Joy,

Soy Slender is a splenda version of flavored soy milk.  I usually use the chocolate or cappuccino.  I didn't care for the vanilla.

1/2 cup =
3.5 g protein
35 calories
1.5 g fat
2 g carbs
1 g sugar

Welcome to the CaliBoards and congratulations on your surgery!

Things will get better for sure...and I use to do a lot of chicken broth I remember. I was not a protien shake drinker for sure! Like Jean said...follow your doctors protocal and you will do fine!
