Curious about Calories

I am waiting on a call back from my Dr, but I am just curious.  I am about 15 weeks post op and had an EGD last Thursday.  I can eat solid food for the first time since surgery.  I now want to eat, eat, eat.  I am eating healthy foods, but does anyone know how many calories I should be consuming in a day?  I have been living on about 300-350 since surgery, but now that I can actually eat "real" food, I am so afraid of gaining weight back.  I have lost 70 lbs so far.  I have already called my Doctor and I am waiting for a call back, but I am also curious to see what everyone else is doing.

Thanks,
Linda

Call your nutriotionist to be sure on how many calories you should be eating, and realize that it's nearly impossible toeat enough to gain weight this early out from surgery.  (It may be in your printed materials from your nutrition class, check there too.)

Sometimes I still have to remind myself that my idea of portion sizes has changed.  Eating ONE BOILED EGG is not a lot, even though my pouch says it is!!

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Hi Linda,

My doc still has me on 600 calories a day.  It'll be 4 months since surgery on the 9th.
