The three words every woman wants to hear

Hey Cat! Blue SHield is very fast. They had trouble receiving all of my paperwork for some reason. They were missing my Nutrition evaluation. Once they received all of my paperwork they had an answer within 24 hours. I didn't have any major co-morbids so I was a little bit worried, but I guess they took my BMI into consideration and gave me the blue light yesterday. My only advice is be yor own advocate and call every day. If I wouldn't have called on Monday I wouldn't have known that they were missing my nutrition eval. and things would have been slowed down considerably. Once I found out what they were missing I called Dr. Coirin's office and they faxed it to them within 10 minutes. I called the next day to make sure everything was ok and they didn't need anything else. They sent it to evaluation that day and  next day I called again and they said I was approved and gave me an approval number. If I hadn't called I would not have known for several more days as they send the approval by snail mail. So it is completely up to you how fast or how slow you want things to go. I was probably a pain in the ass in their eyes, but as they say the squeaky wheel gets the oil first. Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions.
