Good evening.

I have spent the last few days reading the postings, and finally got the courage up to say hi.

My RNY is scheduled for Jan 8th of 2009 at UCSF and I am very excited but nervous at the same time.  It is amazing the level of support that is on this website so thanks in advance as I am sure I will have a gazillion questions!

That's really all for now, but wanted to introduce myself and say thank you for all your great posts and honest comments.  Sure helps as I wait for the exciting day ahead.

Have a great evening

Thanks so much Jean.   There's no doubt about it, this is the place to get answers from those who know!

Realizing everyone is different, what is the average amount of time people need to take off from work?  I  work pretty much at a desk but can get up and move too.

Hi Welcome to the Calli Crew!
On the average I wold say 3-4 weeks so take up to 6 weeks. Remember, this is major surgery, it takes your body time to recover.
Congratulations on your date.
