Ok!  I'm home and feeling pretty good!  I'm walking and sip, walking and sip!   What AM I supposed to do otherwise?  I feel pretty good, I am passing (you know what!) but I'm sore!   I've decided to try liquid Tylenol instead of the pain meds, cause they seem sort of "overkill" for what is pain right now!
Last night I did wake up sort of "uncomfortable". I had had some broth that seemed a bit "tomatoey" as if it wasn't real clear. If it had been before surgery I'd have taken a rollaids--thats kind of how it felt.  After several hours I did sleep again and feel sort of ok today.  I'm trying the New Whey bullets with water today. They taste allright.
So tell me out there, does it sound like I'm doing ok?   I want to do this right!  Is there anymore I could do?
Look forward to hearing from you!

Congrats on your surgery. Glad your feeling pretty good. The only thing I can say it, if your doing what your surgeons post op guidelines tell you to do then your doing OK....it's important to follow them to a T right now....if you have questions about any of them, call his office......

I am just one day ahead of you so I can feel your situation.  I found that the Tylenol Elixer is just perfect also.  This morning however, I had run out of the elixer, so I just crushed a Tylenol into a powder, took it with sips and my headache was GONE in less than 10 minutes.  I have had NO surgery pain whatsoever, just discomfort.  I wear a belly binder (with permission from my surgeon's office) and it makes 1000% differeance in my moving and sleeping ability.  I had to cut down on my protien packed drinks as I am in a "gouty" condition right now and retaining alot of fluids.  I do get plenty of fluid filled foods and have had NO digestion problems..and tootin' sures feels good..lol  I am sending my phone number in a PM to you..so call me if you feel the desire.
Have a good safe and comfy healing process...Kim in Fontana

Congrats to you!  Walking and sipping are about the extent of if for the first few days - in between the walks and the sips you should be resting and getting ready to watch that scale just start dropping before your eyes!  The one thing I did that helped that "uncomfortable" feeling was wedged a pillow under by side, near my belly when laying down.  It made it a little more comfy, but I do remember that I couldn't stay in one position for too long for the first few days.

It sounds like you're doing great!  For acidy tummy, my doctor prescribed Prevacid and it worked like a charm.  Ask about it if it still bothers you on Monday.  If it gets worse call before then.  When in doubt ask, always. :-)

Walk, sip, pass (you know what lol), nap and ask questions.  Yep, that about covers it.  You're a model patient already!

Keep up the good work and I'll think, quick healing thoughts for you.

Welcome to the loser's bench.

Hey there
Sounds like you are doing great....just follow Dr Ali's instructions (he was my surgeon too) and you will do great.  I think you can eat the tums (or was that after a couple of w eeks - yikes I can't remember) but he recommends them for the calcium...give then a call on monday or go through all your paperwork - it should tell you.

Just keep on walking and sipping, thats all you can do.  I didn't have any pain trouble so took very little  pain meds once I was home.

COngrats and keep up the great work.
