Good Thursday Morning CALI
Good MOrning All! It's a wonderful day today. Or will be when I wake up! Going to join a gym tonight. Tired of waiting for Joe to decide to buy a bowflex and fix the back room up so until he does, I'm going to one Fitness One. $20 a month, no contracts, no deducting from checking account, blah blah blah. Pay 'em cash and away we gonna hit this on the way home from work each and every day!
Walking is good, but............I'm getting a bit tired of it. I can and will continue to walk after taking the old man his dinner at night, but need some variety and the upper body while I already have excellent muscle tone, needs work.
Made 2 new blankets last night. 1 is for the brother of one of our employees who is going through some horrible times. 38 years old, wife and 2 young daughters. He's diagnosed with liver and colon cancer and not expected to live. While they need $$$ for rent, bills, something nice and soft for him was also in order. The other was..............for me. However it turned out so beautiful I just had to donate it to our Christmas Auction to raise money for Wings of Angels and I will buy more material for me. Our sponsor child is back in the hospital resuming his treatments and we got a wonderful picture and note from him showing him in his bed with his blanket (his is 9' long) and 2 bolster pillows for propping up arms or legs. He said it was the most wonderful amazing blanket he's ever seen and it is comforting him through his treatments.
We sent a pink John Deere blanket to the 17 year old daughter of an employee who is battling brain cancer. Too many people with this awful disease! I applaud those in research who are trying to find cures for these diseases! Support Cancer Research! My best friend's dad (who I've called "Pops" since I was 12) is battling his own cancer now, but we all know it will take him within 7 months. He has made his peace with God and is now living quality time! Family portraits are being done (I'm in one of 'em), family and friends are being invited to come buy for a visit, etc. Please keep all these people - young and old - in your daily prayers asking God to give them the strength to fight or to just hang in there as well as for their families!
Tomorrow night is my first official day on the job and I'm very excited!!! I'm sure it will be a very busy start on a Friday night!!
I hope everyone has a great day!!! bigg huggs, Becky
Surgery was RNY 5/21/07...I can be found on Facebook: anewbecboo or Becky Reddick
Not much on the agenda today...I'm at my new place right now, doing laundry, as I sold my washer and dryer. I must admit that I'm getting very nervous about living with my sister and niece. As much as i love them, they are just not very neat, and I am in the office now, and there are boxes of stuff that they haven't even unpacked yet!
I just have to keep telling myself it's just for a year...it's just for a year.....it's just for a year!
Othen than that, I'm going to the gym for my workout, then to wash my car....nuthin big!
Have a great day!

Hi Everyone,
The yarn that I ordered the finish the purple/lavender afghan is the wrong color. I did not notice it until I went home last night and was looking at the strip under a natural lighted bulb. EIther I will have to check E-bay or go with another type of yarn that is close in color. So disappointed.
Other than that, I am working on some felted booties.
Nothing else going on in Kimmie's world.
More Love,
Kim
Just popping in to say hello and let y'all know that I'm back! Finally got moved, settled, and a good internet connection going at the house!
I have tons to tell everyone so I will be posting an update in a bit once I have a moment to sit and sort it all out in my head!
I have missed you all so much!
Hope everyone is doing well! I will read back a bit and try to get kinda caught up over the next day or so!

Had a great workout last night and chatted with friends. Went to my regular doctor yesterday to have my last two stitches taken out and to get a flu shot. She couldn't believe how well I'm healing at just three months out. She asked how I felt about everything and I said, "It's a wonderful feeling to see something through to completion." Not unlike graduating from college or some other key moment in one's life. Now, it's up to me to stay on it with exercise and heathy eating.
I made my two year follow-up appointment with Dr. Wittgrove and will see him the day before thanksgiving. I can already picture his smile. Oooohhh, it's gonna be a good day.
Well, today, work is slower... no deadline. I'm gonna pick up the house a bit after work so I have less to do on my weekend.
That's about it today,
Kim
