I saw the GI Dr.  I am getting and edoscopy and stretching done on the 30th of this month.

Hopefully it will only take once.  I am hoping to be able to start eating solid food at some point.  Thank you all for your support

Glad it's been figured out.  Most GI docs want to do it twice to make sure it stays.

You'll feel SOOOO much better afterward!

Best wishes!

Oh GREAT news!!!

Is it an outpatient thing or will you have to stay overnight?

Good luck hon!

I am keeping all my fingers and toes crossed (walking really funny too!) and saying big prayers that this works and you get to keep food down again!  It's no fun wondering if a meal is going to stay down!

I saw the gasto doc yesterday and he put me to sleep and scoped me.  No stricture, just a very irate pouch.  He also took biopsies to see if there was an infection (which also could cause all the throwing up I have been doing for the past 5 weeks).  He said I could easily have a sensitive stomach and things would settle down as time went on.  So the good news is I have only thrown up once today on soup.

Alice, the care care nurse at the my surgeon's office, suggested I drink only the morning of the procedure and go back on soft food for a few days.  After an hour home I tried to get a little split pea soup in that I put through the blender and adding lots of water.  That stayed put.  I still feel a bit wobbly after the anesthesia and have been taking it easy.

I thought the whole procedure was an  easy experience--I didn't even have to get into a gown, just take off my shoes.  Hope things work out for you.  And yes I understand about solid food--I do want to chew something soon.  Helga

Thank you all for the support.  He is going to do it at the hospital, but as an outpatient.  He said they will give me meds to help relax me, but he wants me awake during the procedure, then it's liquids for 3 days.

Hi Linda

So glad that they figured out what the problem was.  You know I told my doctor at my 3 and 6 mo visit, and they didn't give a rats butt to even find out why I was so sick.  They just kept telling me I had not lost enough weight.  Even my first month visit when I had lost 34 lbs, they told me it should have been more.  Real supportive huh?  You obviously have a doctor that cares about what is happening to you.

Don't worry, you will be awake, but you don't know anything is happening.  I remember them having me move on my left side, and that was it.  You got to be awake so you can swallow that damn snake, but you won't remember it at all.

Hugs, Diane

at least I am getting my nutrients in.  My labs came back 100% normal for the time being.  But both Dr. Chin and My GI Dr say it's better to get nutrition from real food, not just supplements.  But at least it sounds like I am on my way
