New member and so glad to be here

Hi there,
Just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Heather and I live in the South Bay Area.  I'm patiently (okay, not so patiently) awaiting a call from Fremont Kaiser to schedule a surgery date and I'm getting a little nervous (mainly that they'll never call me ;p) so I thought I'd join a good weight loss community to supplement my support groups.  I've been reading some posts and you all seem really supportive!  I'm delighted to join you all and look forward to supporting you through your journeys and getting some support with mine.

I am Julie and welcome. I hope everything goes as planned for you. I have learned so much from reading all the different posts.

Welcome, welcome.  One thing I found is being the squeaky wheel helps where insurance companies are concerned.  Once a week isn't too often to call. :-)

Good luck and I hope for a speedy surgery date for you.

Welcome Heather!!

I too am a Kaiser Fremont patient.....I love the entire staff there, and you will too. I had my surgery over 2 years ago, and they had alot of patients in the program and I hear they have many more now.

So, be patient, yet also persistent. Lose that 10%, exercise, and call them every 2 weeks letting them know how you're doing.

Spend this time getting yourself as knowledgable as you can about your surgery, and post op life........this board is a great place to be. I found (and still do find) so much support here.

Also, look for posts from Lunawillow....she is arranging Nor Cal get togethers every month or two I believe. Come out and meet people!

Oh, and I see you have Dr Dutta..........he assisted with my surgery, and did my first post op appt as Dr Dennen was on vacation........he is such a nice guy!

 You guys are all awesome!  I love Dr. Dutta, he just seems really honest and nice.  

    to OH and the Cali board!!! You are going to love it here!! It is a great place for support, WLS education, and GREAT friends!!
I hope they don't make you wait too long for your date. I had Kaiser, so I know the whole process can seem to take forever. Be buckled in though postop, because the time just flies by and it is a wonderfully WILD ride!!!

Hey there- 

Welcome!  I completely understand about waiting patiently for Fremont Kaiser to call.   I had been in contact with the program coordinator and she had told me it would take a couple of weeks before I had heard from her.  At day 13 I called and I was shocked that she actually answered the phone!!! I am scheduled for 11.05.08!!!  Don't lose hope.  I know that it seems like it can take forever.  I would continue to call and update the weight tracking line and then call the program coordinator.  Squeeky wheel and all.  Good luck keep me posted.
