x-post tomorrow surgery cancelled

I was supposed to have my surgry tomorrow. I did all the preop diet and everything.

I talked to the surgeons office this morning to the insurance lady. I was told that they made a mistake and said that my medicare was my primary and my DH ins is my secondary. They were wrong. I told them back in June that my DH ins is my primary and that my medicare is my secondary but they insisted that it was the other way around.

So now since I was right and they were wrong I have to wait till they submit to my DH ins for approval.

I just wish people would listen to me I know what I am talking about. I did the research and found this out.

So anyway I will be waiting some more. Man and I could have had ****a last night.

I will post when I get approved and a new date.

So please do not let this happen to you stay on top of your process.

I am soo sorry to hear that. Do they go by the birthdate rule? Did they give you a timeline on how long to get approval? Most preop labs are only good for a week or two. Did they say they would rebook immediately upon approval so you dont have to redo your labs?  Just a few things to ask :)

No they did not say anything about that and I did not ask I was so upset. When I check in later to see if she did submit today like she said I will find that stuff out.

(((HUGS))))))) Sue, Like I told you earlier I am soooo sorry this happened!!! When you call them make sure to ask how long it usually takes you DH's insurance to get an approval. It might not be that long. No matter, I will be there...well, unless I am having surgery as well. And if that is the case I will be at Stanford but only out patient this time. And I won't know until next month when it will be.

I am so sorry to hear that your surgery has been cancelled. I can only imagine how disappointed you are. I am going through my own frustrations with Dr. Coirin's office. My paperwork has been sitting on her desk for almost 2 weeks and she still hasn't submitted to insurance for approval. Every time I call she keeps reminding me that she has several before me and will get to it as soon as possible, but will never give me a time line. She had blamed the insurance for the delay until I called the insurance and they told me she hasn't even submitted yet. I know that helpless feeling you are going through. I will keep you in my prayers and hopefully we will both be on the losers bench soon!!!

I can not believe that they just lie to us like that. What ever happened to loyalty to their patients  after all they do work for us. I am going to call later this afternoon and find out if she did or not.

I will keep you in my prayers too hopefully we both get submitted and approved ASAP.

I am so sorry that your surgery was cancelled, I remember what a mind game it was just to get yourself ready for it... Now don't let this get you down... just stay on them till they do this right..

Thank you so much Cate 48. I will, I am going to be calling them back this afternoon to see if she did submit like she said she would. If not then I will call everyday till she does. then I am going to be checking with the insurance company on a daily basis.

I know that they cover this surgery because I have several friends that work where my DH does and they had the surgery.
