OT: "Mama Don't Get Dressed Up For Nuthin!"

Last night, my niece threw a surprise 40th birthday party for her husband. She made it a casino theme, because he loves to play poker, even has a big 'ol poker table that he sets up in the dining room or garage for when his buddies come over. All of his buddies also have these little "set ups" in their homes.....there's a reason why all of them are single, and my niece is a saint!!
Anyway, I decide it's time to go out and have some fun. I get dressed up, put on my make up, do my hair, and bring my homemade Sangria that I'm known for.
Come poker time, you have a choice, the money table (buy in is $20 to start), or the "play money" table. I decide to play with the big boys, and throw in $20. Most of these guys are all pros at this, they've been playing for years. I have played black jack in Reno or Vegas a few times, but I am tight, and don't like to let go of my money...seriously, the last time I played Black Jack, I was able to find a $2 table!! I've played poker, but told the guys it's been maybe 15 years. The game we played last night was Texas Hold "Em.
Anyway, long story short (I know, too late for that), 3 hours later, I walk away with $107 in my pocket!!
BTW: What does the term "Shark" mean? That's what the dealer nicknamed me........
I tried to tell Scott, the dealer, that I only know like which hands are better than others, but know nothing about poker strategy (which is true)...his reply was, "Gee thanks for telling me that, I feel so much better now."

I think a shark is someone who pretends not to be very good, but really is.
I find that even though I'm not the best poker player, if I play with a bunch of guys, all I have to do is play my cards and the odds and I'll beat them. Guys tend to play the "wishful thinking" odds and not the real ones. (Yes, I realized that's sexist of me to say.

Good for you! I have no idea how to play poker.....other than it is a bit like Yahtzee! 
Hey....what day this week would be good for you? I have to go to Modesto on Wednesday.....but other than that I am pretty open. The Streets of Brentwood is opening up on Friday and the new movie theater is having free movies on Wednesday & Thursday night. Are you interested??
