EXERCISE THREAD - DID YOU MOVE TODAY???

I have been reading, while on my exercise wheel, about Habits of Fit People.  I wonder if that applies to hamsters too.  Here are some of the things I found out.

Pack your gym bag.  Simple enough, right huh?  Ah, but there are some things that are a must in the gym bag. Shoes, heart rate monitors, iPod, deodoran****er bottle, weight lifting gloves, and a change of clothes.  Everything should be in the bag at all times.  Just the clothing should rotate in and out.  You could also include snacks for the week.  Then restock as the items are used.

The reason this works so well, is that it saves time.  No rushing around and grabbing essentials, or using excuses that you can’t find what you need.  Place the bag next to the door.  That way you will see it every single day.  It reminds you about your goals for the day.  When it is all packed, it is one more cue to bring it along and stick to your plan to exercise that day.

It may seem simple, but you might be surprised at how well it works.

Do you keep your gym gear handy?

My bag is always by the door and ready to go.  Tonight, I am going to water aerobics.  Can't wait, it's been a stressful day at work.

Have fun at aerobics.  I wish I had a pool of gym with pool nearby.  It is such good exercise for the old knees.

I'm only one week out from VSG and I also have pneumonia and two (mildly) collapsed lungs, but, yes, I walked today! Probably only a quarter mile this morning, but I'm on my way out the door to walk again right now.

Thanks for the reminder! :-)

Take care of the lungs and breathing. And use that breathing thingy (good medical terms, right) they gave you at the hospital. Just go slow and steady the course. And congrats on your surgery. I hope you will be conntributing on the boards. We have so few men on the board!

Oh i had quite a few of those today!!! I think I need to wear a wrist brace or something, as much as I try to bowl straight, it always turns to the right!

Thanks for validating my bowling-exercise!! I was kinda weary about it at first until I checked the diary and saw the whopping 350 cals/hour!!
