Uhmmm... Hello??
Hi Everyone,
I'm really new to OH and I hope this is where I'm supposed to say Hi! I joined the site to hopefully get some good info on RNY surgery as I am entering the Bariatric Program through Kaiser Permanente. I have my Orientation scheduled for Nov 4th and I'm really excited and nervous at the same time. I have made a few friends on other sites that have had the surgery and they're doing great. At my first thought of WLS I was leaning more toward the Lap Band, but in more recent thoughts I've been thinking more and more about the RNY procedure. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Tips?
I hope to hear from some or all of you soon!
Take care,
SP from the Bay Area

Welcome!! We are so glad you have come to the boards. I have been on this site for a long while and have made many friends and gained alot of info. I had RNY in Nov.07 and have no regrets at all. It was the best choice I have made for myself ever. I would have to say is do your research and know the difference between the band and the RNY. As for me I was a sweets person badly and with the RNY that has really limited me to sweets and changed my personal out look at food all together. I now eat to live not live to eat.....and I love it!! Good luck with your choice.
Hello and welcome to OH. There are lots of forums on here, where you can research all the surgeries. I came to OH wanting the LapBand and opted to have the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy in November 07 and it has changed my life.
Feel free to post and ask questions as you begin your research =)

Welcome to our little corner of OH! Ask lots of question. There is a board for each surgery on obesityhelp.com. You can ask your questions on each one and make your decision.
Me? I'm happy with my RNY 7/9/08. I never considered the other proceedures becuase of my co-morbidities. My insurance company only pays for RNY so that worked out well.
