I'm Home

Hello All,

Let me begin by saying a huge thank you to Tanja for posting for me and a bigger one for all of your thoughts and prayers.  I got freed yesterday.  I am sore and tired but so grateful to be home.  God bless you all that had open surgery.  It is no joke compared to lap.  I have a long scar with staples and a clamped off drain from my old stomach.

Basically here is the recap.  I ate 2 bites had excruciating pain.  Had an ultra sound, cat scan, endoscopy, and upper GI with flourascope. All showed nothing but that I had a large pouch.  The surgeon truly believed I had an intestinal hernia and decided to go in. There is no test that shows them.  Turns out he was right on all accounts.  My pouch which should have been the size of a golf ball was the size of a soda can (inappropriately sized by UCLA) and I had a hernia. So that's the just of it.  I will have a 4 week recoop time and then back to the usual grind. Of course since it was also considered a revision it back to liquids and the entire process again of a newbie.

I know you are glad to be home now.  There is nothing like your own bed.  Glad to hear you are on the mend.  You have truly been through a lot.

Oh Monica!! First, I have to say I am soo glad you are home and secondly, thank the heavens you are ok. I know your sweet baby girl is really happy to have her mama home!! So sorry you have gone through this and being a newbie a second time really would suck. But just think how fast you will start losing now ...LOL hang in there.

I will continue to pray for your recovery.  Glad the Doc was able to fix the problem.  Are you going to have your mom help you?  I am sure you won't be able to lift Jordyn huh?  Please take care and get some rest.

My mom will be here full time.  I'm not allowed to lift anything over 10lbs and I have learned to follow that the hard way.

Monica, so glad you are home and they found the problem!! I hope this ends all your troubles and starts your weight loss again!! Take care and follow doctors orders, I hope your mom is helping you!!!

Glad you're home and doing well - I didn't realize you had surgery. I was on vacation the past two weeks, and thus, not lurking around here.

I'm glad they found the source of your pain, and that your pouch was also made smaller.

I had my RNY open - so, I get it.

Well how messed up is it that I missed your post. I have been concerned about you not being around. Mystery solved for me. Please take care of yourself. Let your mom help with Jordyn. This is not the time to be super Mom!!
I also wanted to let you know about a SFV lunch on Nov 8th. I lost your email, or I would have sent it seperately. Take care my Friend. I hope you are able to make the lunch. I have not met the beautiful Jordyn yet.
