OT: Essure

I heard about Essure (www.essure.com) recently and decided that I NEED THIS! This is what I am looking for! As far as I'm concerned, this is the almost-perfect birth control ... It could only be better if it would make my periods go away!

But the thing is, I don't know ANYONE who has had this done or even talked to their gynecologist about it. So I thought I'd check here and ask you guys.

I've heard of this before but do not know of anyone who has had it done.
My DH had a vasectomy once we decided we didnt' want any more kids. I was stoked, no more birth control for me! woo hoo! Guess what, I'm back on birth control trying to get my hormones leveled out. Since having WLS they have been all over the place. I had never had it so bad in my life. It has been torture. Try this, try that, maybe this, hows that working. I'm afraid to say we may have found the right one. One more month should tell for sure. I'm hoping one day I won't have to take them anymore but I'm just not sure.

Sue, that must be miserable! I had my surgery about five and a half months ago and I'm currently just about done with my fourth month of birth control ... So my hormones have been wonky, too - but I figure it's the pills, and things seem to be leveling out now. Thank God! I don't mind taking the pills and I like the fact that I don't have periods when I take them, but I will be more comfortable with something more permanent.

Anyhow, thanks for the input - I appreciate it!
