OT: Holy Crap, Batman!! I got a job!!!

Because I'm on SSDI, I was contacted by the company that contracts with the Social Security Administration.

Kat, Congrats and thank you.  For reminding me to call SS dept. LOL I want to go back to work really bad. But I have to be re-trained.

Congrats Kat.....what a great feeling eh? having a job just gives you so much confidence in ourselves....

One thing about it, I don't think IRS is going anywhere.....sounds like a steady job....my son in law works for IRS, has for over 20 years....he is in Bankrupcty dept.....so I know he has job security.....lol

Thanx Darlene!! Altho the IRS isn't going anywhere, the job is seasonal. I believe it end at the end of April 2009. But at least I'll have a decent income until then... =)

Thanx Janine!! =) When  I got to the company I had to take a clerical test along with a typing and 10-key test. I finished the clerical test and she sets me up for the typing test, only the dexk is about 3 inches higher than my desk at home, and the keyboard is almost across the other side of the desk (the cord on the keyboard is short). The gal tried to pull the keyboard closer to my side of the desk, but it wouldn't budge, and she wouldn't set me up at another computer. So I do the typing test, but because of the way it's set up, I only did 21wpm. I usually type about 35wpm. This company requires 30wpm. I didn't even get to take to 10-key test (which I will suck at anyway). Out of about 75 items on the clerical test, I only missed 2. She said she was going to talk to the gentleman who is doing the interviews, but I'm NOT gonna hold my breath.

Way to go!!!!  Congratulations!!!
