You made me laugh!  You can't run and chew.  Have you tried G2, its the light Gatorade or Power Aid Zero?  I like the poweraid zero. 

Also thank you for the welcome to the ranks of the crazy OH runners, I am still in shock I am doing this.  But, I am committed and looking forward to my many many runs and training.

If i was you, I would wait a bit, right now you do NOT need to carb load on anything, You don't need to start thinking about that until you start doing 10 miles or more.
 
I gu and/or sports beans. Orange flavor for me.

Thanks for the advice.  I am going to be seeing my doctor in a few weeks for my three month check up.  I will ask him as well as my NUT.
