Update and ?

Hey all! First just a note... my sister's surgiversary is coming up and I am very proud of her. Yay! She is down to 175! I can't wait for my turn! I am making great progress here. I am waiting on an appointment to see the shrink for my SSI claim. I am also working on getting Medi Cal through the state. I think that will come about but it is looking like SSI will go so fast that it won't be long till I will have that. I have begun some walking. I am trying. I have lost a bit in my upper tummy on my own. Not alot but it is something. I am still struggling with depression and anxiety and  will see the Dr again on the 9th. I now have high blood pressure so they have given me some meds. Feeling ok. I need to start talking to some local surgeons so that I can find one. I guess I will wait till I talk to the Dr on Thursday. I am worried she will not support my efforts but think she will. I was wondering if the Bariatric Surgeons here do seminars? In TN they do that. I am interested in attending one or two to get a feel for what the Dr's are like here. Also, I am noticing that there is not alot of Dr here with much info on their sites... Am I just not looking in right place? I am really wanting to get my focus back on this because I knwo my time is coming! Is there any support groups in Turlock/ Modesto?

I would recommend my surgeon. Dr. Patrick Coats, he is located in Modesto. He is great! And his office staff is wonderful! You have to attend a seminar to start your WLS with him. There is also a wonderful nutrition class that is required after you get your date. And then follow ups with the nutritionist, to help you make sure you are on the right track. Give his office a call, you wont regret it!

I will! I am excited but am waiting to get Medi Cal... I hear some say they require 6 mos and others say 3 mos. Not sure which is right.

I am with Nicole!! Dr. Coates is the best in my book. He and the hospital have the certificate of excellence. Which I my opinion shows that he know what he is doing and has a excellent program.
