Spent the day in the ER - (long)

So I have been having more and more gastritis attacks.  Well yesterday I had a mother of one at the end of third period.  Luckily it was nutrition after but I have never felt such pain.  I was screaming my head off and wouldn't let my co-teacher call 911.  Of course after she had the school nurse come I was over ruled.  So they wheeled me off and get this. Once at the hospital the paramedics dropped me taking me out of the ambulance. I was still on the gurney but almost flipped out and ended up hyper extending my neck.  The kicker for me was that they never stop to say are you okay, help me back on the gurney properly or anything they just kept trying to jerk me up into positon.  Even when I said to the fireman I hit my head and it hurt he said nothing.  I will be calling to voice my unsatifaction.

Anyhoo I got med for pain and nausea and was sent off to get my neck and tummy xrayed.  After that I had and u/s of my tummy.  The doctor comes back to say that my liver levels were a lil off and the bariatric surgeon thinks there might be a bowel obstruction so I need a cat scan.  That too comes back clear just as the other tests do and he decide that it may be an ulcer and to refer me to gastroenterology for a endoscopy.  He says I can go home if we can manage my pain if not I would stay.  It is decided I would take tylenol as I am very sensitive to meds and could not take care of my daughter on vicodin. I asked him what could I eat and he said something bland.

Stop on the way home and got mashed potatoes from KFC after not eating all day and you guessed I was writing on the floor until exhausted and fell asleep.  He gave me a week off to try and get things under control and I guess I will be taking it.  This so bites. If you are of the praying mind please send one up for me that this is over sooner than later. Thanks

Hope everyone else had a better day.

oh my Goodness Monica!  What an ordeal to go through.  I can't believe the paramedics did that, and then the attitude afterwards.  That's terrible!

I hope you are feeling better real soon.  Please get rest and take care!

Monica,
Do you have a gallbladder.  I am not sure if you have Kaiser insurance or not but it you do you should try and get an outside referral back to UCLA.  I know that Dr Gracia is gone but his colleagues that were there when you had your surgery are stillt here.  You records are also there.  I think that if would be good for them to take a look see. That is my 1 cent worth.
I understand that belly pain
As for the ambulance crew. If it was LA City I would find out what station they came out of and what shift (A, B or C) .  Then get a hold of the station and ask to speak to the captain and complain.
Try and stay away from KFC probably not a good choice, that is why I asked about your gallbladder.  KFC taters have lots of fat.  You need to try and stick to things like no sugar apllesauce, fat free sugar free yogurt unblended.
Feel better,
Liz

I do still have my gall bladder w/gall stones.  I went through all of this testing about a year out and the surgeon concluded that my symptoms wasn't gall bladder related and gastritis ( I have had it since I was 12). So we will see what the endoscopy shows now.  KFC wouldn't have been my first chice  but I was exhausted and just wanted to get something in.  At this poin****er makes it hurt so go figure.  I definitely plan to call and have a few choice words with the fire department I have the number.   Thanks for your penny.
