What do you do when you get food or a pill stuck in your throat?  Anyone have ideas or remedies they do?

Thanks

What kind of pill are you taking?  You should not be taking any pills, they should be chewable or disolve.  As far as food, if you are following the doctors orders then nothing should get stuck.  You aren't very far out from surgery, what did you eat that you think is stuck.  Some people say to drink water, but when I got some dry chicken stuck, we all do that it's alot of trial and error, I tried drinking water, well it just make me puke.  I found that when something was stuck there was no help, I would pray that I would vomit, that was all that ever worked for me.

Good luck

Call your doctor and see if they can do something about the pills you are on, if they come in chewable or powder form.  Just make sure they are small.  I do not have problems with pills, none have ever gotten stuck on me.  Just chicken and beef!  It doesn't do any good if the pills get stuck, I would imagine drinking alot of water may disolve the pills faster if they are stuck, but I would call your regular doc and tell him the problems.

Good luck, Diane

If your pills are a regular release you should be crushing them.  Anything greater than 8mm (pencil eraser should be crushed!!!!).  That should alleviate the issue for you

I have 2 tiny little pills that I take every morning and they always try to get stuck but I just drink more water and they go do. These tiny little pills don't have that smoot coating on them like all the rest of mine do.

GOOD LUCK
