Revisions thru Kaiser, anyone?
Hi there! I had RNY almost three years ago and have since given birth to twin babies (5 months ago) and gained about 50 lbs while pregnant. Before being pregnant, I had made it to about 186 (started at just shy of 300) and when I got pregnant I weighed 193. Now I'm about 203, which for those of you who have had kids know that 200 lbs after kids versus 200 lbs before looks completely different! I currently have Kaiser insurance and I'm just wondering if anyone out there has had a revision surgery through Kaiser? I've read a lot of people that have other insurances, but I know Kaiser is sometimes delicate. Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated!
Just curious as to why you think you need a revision as it sounds like baby weight.
Now as to the question. I have come across a couple people who have revised from LapBands. Both I met at a Kaiser support meeting. They were both having issues with their bands which was cause for the revision.
Maybe give the bariatric section a call and schedule an appointment to have your RnY checked.

Hi Ms Shell,
Well, I think the reason I'm interested in learning more about it is because I never reached goal weight (not really even close) prior to getting pregnant and I was already two years out. When I would start excersising, I could lose a few pounds right away. Life in general gets in the way here and there, so I didn't stick to any real exercise routine. But now that I've had the babies, anytime I do put for the effort (which I'm in a more regular routine now) the weight acts like it did pre-surgery...it goes nowhere. Nothing has changed in a few weeks, and I'm just wondering if things have stretched out or whatever happens in there to prevent adequate weight loss. I'm thinking if I have a surgeon take a look at it, just that alone may be enough to tide me over and I can perhaps see someone about diet and nutrition again.
Have a great night!
