Hello All,

I need some advice- what can I replace these cravings with? I know there bad for me..but it's so difficult to not have them. Are these cravings normal?? I'm so disappointed in myself- I know better.

Yes it's very normal and even being 2 yrs plus post op, I still crave them.  One thing I do is...I don't buy them.

It's very hard to stay away from them but if you continue to remember why you had surgery and what Dr. Zorn has done for you, perhaps that'll keep you away from them.  Yes, you can have carbs but have control over it and don't over do it...Believe me, you will see those numbers climb on that scale if you return to bad habits.

Good luck and keep busy doing other things...It's helped me to not focus on food food food.

Hi M,   Gus is right…out of sight, out of mind. I don’t buy anything that I LOVE!!! One thing that helps is to be creative in your cooking. Check out “Eggface” blog, she has great recipes.

Hi M.

Along with Gus being right, out of sight out of mind I have found a couple things that help.

1. Peanut butter stuffed pretzels (I stick to one serving and at least they have protien) - Not the best thing but once in a while is not bad.

2. Soy Crisps from Trader Joes. High protien and still crunchy.

3. Smoked almonds.

Good luck to you!

Just don't buy them and try and remind yourself why you had this surgery. If you are eating carbs to begin with...the bad ones that is...it will only make you crave them worse. I hope you get a hold of yourself!
