Hi everyone, I am fairly new to the site and I'm learning how to work the site. I live in the bay area, Antioch/Pittsburg and today was my mandatory orientation at Kaiser Fremont. They told my about the 10% weight loss and I don't know how I'm gonna get that done. I don't want to have to weight for like a year to have my surgery.  Anyhow, this is such a great site. I look forward to talking with you guys.

Hi!  I to am going through kaiser in fremont.  I had my orientation on the 14th.  When i was there listening to all of the info i got really discouraged with them telling me it could take up to 6 months to a year for the surgery.  When i left and I came home I just told myself just go with it.  I wasnt sure how i was going to lose the weight either.  If i could diet then i wouldnt be this big right?  Well i just put my head up started to do the 1200 calorie diet and i went to the gym with a couple of my friends (who by the way are my biggest supporters) and i actually started to like to work out!  I weighed myself last wed and i had lost 14lbs in 9 days... motivation to keep going...

This is what im saying. Get with a couple of friends who can be your cheerleaders and go!!  I never thought i could do it either but here i am. My goal is to reach my goal weight by the initial consult with the surgeon so i can get on the waiting list sooner.  Keep your mind focused on your goal.  You can do it!  If you need to talk or just need some support we could do it together.  I could use all the support i can get!  Good luck!!
