AIDS Support
Hello Cali!
As some of you know I have taken on the challenge of doing my first marathon. Yes, 26.2 miles. I am currently 11 weeks post op and looking forward to completing the marathon. Thanks to Scott B.I was introduced to APLA (AIDS Project Los Angeles) which helps prepare you for this amazing journey. This is such a worthy cause, and I would like to ask for your support. I have made a personal commitment to raise at least $1,600 by Friday, December 19, 2008 - and I hope to raise even more. Any contribution you can make would mean a great deal to me. Contributions are tax-deductible and will make a huge difference in the lives of thousands of people living with AIDS. I am hoping that my online support system will help me on my journey. There is also a link in my signature. Here is the link to my page: http://www.aidsmarathon.com/participant.aspx?runner=LA-2084& Year=2008&EventCode=LA09 Thanks! Lola
P.S. If you can't donate ask me how you can help in other ways.
Also, please pass along the link to friends and family. Thanks!
Hi Lola, I just made a small donation to your page. I wi**** could be more. I lost a dear friend to AIDS in 1988. In the end, I was the only one that would visit him. His family would come to the hospital, but stand at the door. I was holding his hand when he died. His family gave me a $10,000.00 check to plan his funeral. He wanted to be cremated, so I had him cremated and had a small memorial for him and gave the rest to an AIDS charity (about $8000.00). I wish you luck in your training and in the upcoming marathon. =)
