Consider researching the California law requiring CA insurers to cover "reconstructive surgery" to correct abnormal structures of the body resulting from disease.  Excess skin can be an abnormal structure of the body and morbid obesity is definitely a disease.  This statute specifies that the reconstruction need not be "medically necessary."
Thanks for the info dogma2karma!  Where do I look for this statue, so that I may presnet it to my doctor.

Here is a DMHC case that refers to the law by assembly bill number and CA statute number (I think).  Google california law and the statute number and you should get some results that take you to the ca.gov site that lists the text of all the CA laws currently on the books.

http://wp.dmhc.ca.gov/imr/detail.asp?id=8134

Good luck!

Remember:

excess skin/abdominal muscles = abnormal structure of the body (a doc would have to agree to this)
disease = morbid obesity

sorry I cant make it a link right now, it takes a few xtra steps on my mac and I am almost late for picking up kids from school - bye

 Sabra,
Kaiser will pay for panni repair, and you can request a consult at West LA or Woodland Hills where you can pay an additional fee for service and have a full tummy tuck, breast lift or belt lipectomy lower body lift.  I had the lower body lift done in June through West LA.  I had to pay the difference between the panni removal.  Kaiser covered my breast lift.

HTH,
