My WOW moment
Last night I went back to my old neighborhood and I visited a church I had gone to for many, many years, since childhood. I used to sing there for over 10 years, lots and lots of history.... When I left I was really heavy, at least 300+ pounds.
I've been in touch with a lot of those people via email/myspace/facebook but it's rare that I get to go back and visit.
One of my friends had to 'reintroduce' me to someone I knew from years ago, I sat in with his band once.
Friend: "Aldo, say hi to Moe."
Aldo: "Moe? I don't know a Moe.." He looked at me and thought for a while
Friend: "Yes you do, she used to sing here...a long time ago."
Aldo: "Moe? I remember a Moe, she was a big time singer...she was awesome"
Me (to my friend): "Is that me he's talking about?" My friend nods yes.
Me: "Aldo, I'm Moe!!"
He did not recognize me, and I still don't think he was convinced it was really me until other people stopped by and said hello!!! I got lots of shocked faces, dropped jaws and people who had to do double-takes when they realized who I was. I realized that I looked different, but not unrecognizable!!! It was crazy!!!!!
