Does anyone know how long the orientation lasts?  My DH may wait in the car, you know, sleep, listen to the sports...  It starts at 11:30, I was wondering if there is a lunch break?
Also, anyone from Sacto going to the orientation this Sunday?
Thanks...

I attended way back in '05.....the orientations may be different now. Mine was about 3 hours long. The surgeon spoke for a bit, then the nutritionist, then if I remember right the surgeon again.

They did give us a little break. There is also a pretty good sized strip mall  right next to the hospital.

Hi....I just went to the orientation in Fremont about two weeks ago. It took about two 1/2 hrs.First you check-in,then they weigh you and give you a big binder. ( Don't forget to have your packet filled out because they will ask you for it).. Then they will send you to a conference room. One of the doctors will speak about the surgery and go over what's in the binder. Then a nutritionist will come in and talk to you about good choices, portions, vitamins etc.. (she will bring lots of examples). Be ready to take lots of notes, they will provide you with lots of valuable information.  TamiN

Thanks Tam, looks like YOU have the most up to date info  Can I dash right out afterwards?  I want to make it to Concord by 3:00.  Iam in Sacto, and haven't driven in the bay area for YEARS!!!  When we were newlyweds, we lived in Milpitas, at the Suntree apts!!  Small world eh?  Thanks for the info...
Opps...Edited to add... Is there a lunch break???

hi Again..The only break we had was for a 5 to 10 min between the dr and nut speaking to us. I don't know about you making it to Concord by 3.  Doesn't it take about 2 hrs to get there from this area?  What do I know..lol... Some people stick around to talk in more detail to the nutritionist and others leave right away.

yeah it is a small world...Milpitas keeps growing its getting quite crowded....TamiN
