Insurance Help California

So My friend in California (who cannot log herself on-technical difficulties) has this question
'How long after all required bariatric surgery medical clearances & requirments have been completed and sent to your insurance provider (blue sheild) did u have 2 wait for the surgery approval (or denial)?'  Thanks.

I had blue cross ppo and it was only a couple of weeks for me after I seen the WL doc.  But each insurance company is different, just make sure she keeps on top of things and keeps calling the insurance company to find out how things are going.  I don't have the patience to wait for someone else to do the work, I make sure people are doing their jobs.

I have Blue Cross PPO and it was a grand total of 5 days after they submitted paperwork.  But it was 2.5 weeks after I saw the surgeon in consult.  Took them quite a bit to get the paperwork together and faxed off.

9 DAYS !!  I actually got a call from Blue Cross telling me I was approved then a letter followed a week later.

I have Blue cross PPO one week after the paper work was submitted I was approved!!....very easy
