Bought me a hot dress! - and hair loss???
Woohoo Rachel about the dress and I am dying to see you in it!
As for the hairloss...OMG it has been back in full force a while after I started the 5dpt. It has been falling for months now. Although my hair looks relatively healthy. I thought about taking biotin and I heard that nioxin comes in some liquid form? A hairdresser told me about that...don't know if that is true. I am cornfused...think I should have been blond!
I do think the hair loss has slowed down now. I am still keeping my carbs at around 50 a day, but I have to say since I have gone back to school with all the piles of stress that has been heaped on me...like yearbook, teachers, and working on the mural makes me want to snack. I have not given in, but I feel I have to be even more watchful of what I do or I will blow it.
Why can't things ever be easy? I hate it. I just want to go about my life and feel like I do not have to worry about my weight....would be a nice thought eh?
Rachel you have done fantastic...woohoo 148....I am so proud of you. By any chance are you going to the LA event in October? Would love to see you again!

As for the dress, it's really just a basic dress. I just saw it, loved it, bought it, and it fit! I feel really good in it.
Did you see Patty's post...she's out around the same time as us and has started losing hair again...hmmm???
I just started my first year teaching...food everywhere! I haven't told anyone about my WLS there (and kind of like it not being the thing I talk about ... is that wrong). So it's been tough staying on the program, but at least I've maintained.
I'm thinking about going in October. Now that I'm a preschool teacher...I'm broke...but we'll see. If I do go, it will be Saturday only. gotta trick or drink...I mean treat with my kids (Yes, us mom's have our 'scary' goblets we walk around with.)
Hugs,
Rachel
I saw Patty's post and I am two years ahead of you guys in terms of being post op. I also started the 5DPT 9 months ago now....and about 3 months out I noticed the hair going and now it is just starting to slow down. I hope it is just a phase like it was early post op.
Congrats to you on teaching too! I hope you love it as much as I do!!!
If you use Eggfaces code you can get the ticket for 1/2 price and I am only going for Saturday too!
Hope to see you!

Good to see you... sounds like things are going well.
Your post got me thinking... we're both approximately the same amount of time post-op - and, a couple months ago I (and my hairdresser) started noticing I was losing more hair than usual. Now I still have a ton of hair, but I was finding more in the drain.
It's been several months since I did the 5DPT... I'm wondering if this is something common at about 4-years post-op??? I eat a lot of protein (and everything else) and my labs are good. Hmmmm....
I had never taken Biotin, even immediately post-op. However, I did start taking it a couple months ago and do notice less hair in the drain. My hairdresser swears by Biotin. I take sublingual Biotin (2 pills, not sure of the milligrams) from the Vitamin Shoppe.
I'd be curious if anyone else 4-years post-op plus has experienced something similar???

- Patty
Always good to see you too!
I started the 5dpt way back in april and am just starting to lose hair now? That would be very similar to the 3-4 months post op I was when I started losing hair after surgery. So perhaps its a delayed effect?
OOOHHH sublingual biotin...gotta get me some. Interesting about the hairloss...hmmm??
Hugs,
Rachel

Are you sure this will work?
