Cigna healthcare

I live in Fairfield Ca and I am new to Cinga healthcare open access.  I was pre approved with Kaiser but i was told that it is null with my new health ins.  Anyone have any recommendations on a doctor to help me restart this process all over again?  Would appreiciate any help. 

Also how hard is it to get approved with Cigna?

I had Cigna and did not have an issue getting the surgery approval.  I had the open access also.. I chose to go out of network for my Surgen.  The hospital and everyone else was in net work. i had to pay 1500 to have my surgen.  Well worth the extra money in my eyes.

Cigna now required you to have medical proof that you have had a bmi over 35 for the last 3 years before they will approve it.   I had got no on the approval the first time, just becuase the day i sent it in they changed that part. but 2 days latter they approved it when i had sent some paper work in showwing my weight from the last three years.

 If you have open access. Which I'm assuming is like a PPO according to the other poster above then  you can just go to cigna's website and find a preferred provider, make an appointment with that surgeon, then have the surgeon's office submit all paperwork for you. You do not have to do a 6 month diet, or have proof of being MO for any certain amount of time. This is a thread a posted awhile ago. Good luck. PS find out your specific policy's criteria for WLS. You need to find out if they have an exclusion, if you can go out of network, what their fees are, etc.
