No Reason....
I was trying to come up with a ton of reasons why I should post, but I can't, so I will just say Hi. I am new to the board(kind of), been on a while just afraid to post. I have everything done for my RNY, I'm just waiting on my DR to make a date. It seems like it's taking forever!!! I wish I could just sleep until the day of surgery, skip all the stress and anxiety. That would be so much easier!!!
Waiting is making me start to doubt. I feel so lonely going through this. I feel like I'm by myself on this journey. I don't really know anyone that has gone through this(I know of one, but she is not a good example and we are not that close). My family doesn't really understand exactly what I'm going through. And some don't really believe I can do this(I have four kids, and my husband is in the Navy, I think I can handle this)! I've had enough taking care of everyone else and forgetting about me. It's my turn now!!
Hopefully it won't be too long of a wait!!

Hi Kim,
"I will be ready, willing, and able despite all odds!!" lol!! Thank you for the support! I grew up at Kaiser Fontana, also had two of my babies there. We are originally from Banning. Not sure if you know where that's at. Usually if your from IE you have at least heard of it. We go down to visit our family all the time. It's still home sweet home, but honestly you can't beat San D's weather!

Hey Terri~
Congrats on posting....what you have written in your second paragraph, a TON (pun intended lol) can indentify with! Those are all completely normal feelings and a lot of us had to go through familial issues, people just not "getting it"....etc. If you are REALLY bored, you can go all the way back to the beginning of my journal and see some of the trials and tribulations I had to go through.
I commend you for finally taking the time for YOURSELF. This is what it all comes down to. You HAVE to take care of yourself, so that you can be a better mommy to your babies and a better wife to your hubby! And just think of all the extra energy you will have to do stuff with the kiddos when hubby deploys! Trust me, it is ALL worth it in the long run.
Now, another thing- if you have been reading the posts around here, you know that the San Diego gals get together once every month or so and they are a GREAT source of inspiration, information and support. GO TO A LUNCH! Also, doesn't Balboa still have a support group meeting too? I know it seems kind of overwhelming to go into a situation where you don't know anyone, but all those ladies will make you feel SO welcome! I promise they don't bite....LOL
(and ya, I am biased about my San Diego girls)
Good luck to you and hope you get your date soon!
If you ever want to talk about anything WLS-wise, dependent wife-wise, San Diego-wise...I am just an email away!
Take care!

Hi Vicki,
I have a boring life! I would love to read through your journey! It helps to make the time go by. Having more energy, is exactly what I'm looking for, my husband deployed in 2007 for the first time, and I have no clue on how I made it through. He leaves this January again, I am looking forward to having all the extra energy to wrangle my kids so they don't try and take over ;)!
I have just started really reading the posts, I saw the one for the upcoming get together on the 27th. I would love to come! I don't have any support groups at all. I might need someone to hold my hand, I get really shy(It's much easier hiding behind the computer). When we first moved here 2 years ago, they didn't have room at Balboa or the clinics. So we are going to a civilian doctor. Everything I do referral wise is civilian. I will be having my surgery done by Dr. Mary Murphy, at Scripps Mercy hospital. I will definitely be emailing you.

Hi Terri,
Welcome to the boards. Glad you came out of lurkville
.
You should read "WLS for Dummies" . Very comprehensive book. Start ASAP to taking Vitamin C (1000 mg) everyday, drinking 70 oz water, walking 30 mins, drinking a protein shake, practice eating slower and out of smaller plates daily. All of these things will help you recover quicker with fewer complications and will help you to adapt to your new lifestyle. Regarding the protien shakes, get the sample packets, not a big container, as your taste buds will change after surgery. You don't want to be stuck with something that you might not like. Go to bariatriceating.com for the packets.
Good luck and congratulations,
Kim

Without struggle, there is no progress.
Hi Kim,
I was reading your profile today and had to laugh. I seriously, just bought the Leslie Sansone Walk at Home-(the 3 mile one) at Wal Mart today! I am glad to know that is how you did a lot of your work out. I just can't get out of the house to work out. Thank you for all that info. I had no clue about the protein pack. I was wondering about how everything changes afterwards. I have been taking my Vitamin C. I have been "trying" to get in all my water. Makes me worry, because if it's hard now, it seems like it will be a lot harder after. I'm sure I will be bugging you more soon...

I bought the 3 mile one. My sister just told me about it today as I was walking into Wal Mart. So I figured ok might as well. SInce I have not been doing well at exercising at all. It also came with "The Walk Belt". Yes, I will definitely let you know if I have any questions. I think once I get a date then it will hit me. Right now I'm in whatever mode, just relaxing and going about my daily life.
I really appreciate your advice and posts! Thank you.
