Question for Kaiser So Cal revision patients

I was going to begin starting options classes this month. I had a meeting with
Jeanie (she's the one that does the psych eval) and I metioned I have a lapband
and she said that I might have to meet with the surgeon earlier than most so he
can check my band. Then I got a call from Rebecca (nurse practitioner) wanting to
schedule and upper GI so I can go see Dr. Zane in Harbor City. I guess he is a bariatric surgeon. THEN, I got a call from Terry (scheduler) saying my classes have been on hold until I meet with the surgeon. She said that depending on what he says will decide my fate.

So now I am completely nervous that I will be rejected because I already have the band!!

Has anyone have a revision surgery from band to rny through Kaiser?? I am sure someone has already asked this, but I cannot find a post anywhere. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

THANKS
Liz

I don't know how Kaiser handles this but I do know someone who had a lap band and then later had RNY.

I went to a support meeting and there was a girl in your situation.  She basically said because she already had a WLS and was doing a revision she didn't have to go through all the classes...like been there done that.

So your hoopes are basically different.  They will need the surgeon and yes Dr. Zane is one, to assess your current situation and go from there.  So all the tests to see what's going on with your band, etc.

Don't fret...

Thanks for your posts. I have done some reading on Dr. Zane and everyone has positive feedback. I am very happy about that! I will be sure to post an update on my profile once I meet with him for my consult.

BY THE WAY .....I got a call today from Dr. Zanes office and they scheduled me for a consult already. WOW , that was fast. I will see him on October 8th, 2008, and hopefully I will have positive feedback to post sometime after that.

Wish me luck!
