I'm Home and now a Loser!
To start off super special thanks go out to my Angel - Becky. She was so on top of things. Thank You Thank You Thank You!
Monday morning Joe (aka the bald man) took me down there and when we got in and they put me in a bed I cut him loose to head home and sleep. There are very few things he can't do and hospitals are one of them. Doc called him when I was out of surgery and as soon as I made it down to my room he showed up! He stayed a few minutes and headed off to work. He popped in after work at 1am! Scared the dickens out of a nurse but he told her he was there for a quick drive-by kiss! Such a sweetie.
Can anyone tell me why they need to draw blood at 4am?? And give a breathing treatment at 4:30? They got me up every 4 hours to walk but first they had to disconnect me from the leg stimulators. Hot sweaty plastic grrrrrrrrrrrs. I managed to get up to 15 laps around the ward by the end of Tuesday and my nurse Stacey was such a kick. She'd come in after my walks and ask if I was ready for her to tie me up and turn me on meaning put on the leg squeezers and to turn the machine on. We had such a laugh about that.
I got a pain pill at 1:30 am on Wednesday morning because the drain site was so killing me. DeWayne the Drain was dragging. Yes, I named the darned drain. With a norco on board I slept like a baby until 6:30 when I woke up and had to PEEEEEEE. But, didn't want to get out of bed because that meant I'd have to go do laps. I was being lazy. I stayed in bed (still having to PEE!****il 7:45 when Roxanne came in and chased my butt out of bed. God rid of the pee and did my walks and settled in for breakfast. Doc came by and cut me loose - said all my numbers were doing great and I was doing awsome. We went to a 30 minute class for all 4 of the barriatric patients and after that DeWayne was evicted and the IV removed and Joe came and got me.
He was so sweet. He's trying to pack to go to Colorado hunting and he tells me that with me gone he's too spacey and can't think of a single thing he needed. I made him a list and that helped. Made him a grocery list and he did good with that. He tells me I'm his Rock! Awww.
Anyway I am here at home, the puparazzi are so glad to see me and my friend Candi will be checking in on me. I have to go get Isopure clear protein (wish they would have told me I needed this before surgery) and my pain meds.
Glad to be home and thankful I had a wonderful Angel! Thanks to everyone who left me love on my page! I read them all and totally appreciate each and every one of you! Thank you
