need help from so-cal people!

i also posted this in the DS forum, since that's the surgery i am hoping to have

since this is the california forum, this applies..


i am pre-op and fighting for Medi-CAL (20 months into the fight) and i am desperately in need of an ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA! (i'm in burbank but i can handle aproximately a 40'ish mile *each way* drive before my back gives up on me)

i need a fat-friendly (we all know how important it is to not enter a dr's office and have the FIRST thing out of his/her mouth be, "well if you weren't so fat...") Orthopedic Surgeon to see me for an evaluation ASAP.  i am without insurance but i am more than happy to self-pay.

also, anyone who's also fighting the state w/Medi-CAL and/or the HighRiskInsurancePool, please contact me -- i have so many questions and after almost 2 years of fighting i feel like i'm drowning!!!

p.s. i flagged this as urgent because i am fighting a case against the state and despite the postponement, time is DEFINITELY a factor here!!!

I have no answers for you.  I wish I did but I want to say good luck.   I hope something comes through for you.  I personally think that wls should be available to all who qualify regardless of ability to pay.  I know it would result in an enormous cost but think of the quality of life and the people that could go back to work and off state and federal aid.   Don't give up.

Try the doctors here at the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute, specifically Dr. Gazmarian. They are located in Van Nuys at the same facility as Valley Presbyterian hospital.

i know the Glendale Adventist Hospital has the best "spine" clinic around but i was hoping someone would have a good lead on orthopedics as well!

I go to Kerlan Jobe when I need an ortho, they are the orthos for all the pro sports teams in LA and OC. they have an office in Anaheim right next to Anahein stadium. They have an office in Pasadena.
