Out of the freaking wheelchair!!!! Woohooooo!!! The doc said that the ankle is still healing slow, but if I'm not having any major pain I can be on the crutches most of the time as long as I don't put full weight on the ankle. I go back in 4 weeks to see how the progress is going and to determine if I am going to need a screw put in to help it heal more. But the MOST important things are that I am out of the wheelchair, on crutches and I can drive!!! I am sooooo freaking happy!!!

Hi Katt,

What happened to your ankle?  How long were you in a wheel chair?

I broke my ankle on Oct. 4th and I am still walking with a cane.  So I can TOTALLY relate!!  It's miserable!!!!  I didn't have traditional wheelchair.. I had a TLC Scooter.  It was a LIFESAVER, since I didn't walk for 3.5 months!

So glad you are on crutches and getting around!

Take care of  yourself!

Hi Renee, on June 11th (six weeks after surgery), I fell and broke my right ankle due to not enough protein and being dehydrated. My ankle broke in 2 places and the end of the tibia bone. They gave me crutches, but the next morning I got on the crutches and fell backward****ting my nightstand and then hitting the floor (crutches are EVIL!!!). It took 2 hours and a friend to get me off the bedroom floor. Thankfully our friend's girlfriend's mom had a wheel chair in storage and let me borrow it. I've been in the wheelchair for almost 13 weeks. Now I have graduated back to crutches...lol
