Have you visited the July '08 board?  http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/07-2008/  I know I lived on the April '05  board for about the first 6 months.  So many of us experienced the same things at about the same time.  If you haven't visited it, I highly recommend that you do.  By the way - I still have problems with chicken, by the way and I am almost 3 1/2 years out!!

So sorry to hear about your meat problem. I'm almost 2 years out and have given up all meats with the exception of some seafoods. I still get food stuck  at least 4x a week. Kinda sucks but it is what it is... Hang in there and make sure your proteins are VERY moist and smaller bites. Good luck...

Could be a stricture.  10% of RNY patients get them.  Very treatable if that is what it is.  It is a narrowing of the small intestine just below the pouch.  You will need to go to a gastroenterologist if necessary to "get scoped" .  They'll enlarge the area with a small balloon.  Get it checked out with your doctor.  Brian   PS Do not freak out if you have to go back a second or third time to get treated for the stricture (if that is what it is).  Very very common to have to go back a second or third time.  By the third time 95-98% of stricture patients get it resolved.

Hello!

I'm a little late in replying to your message - and you've already received so much good advice!
But, the one thing that I noticed in your post is that you said the chicken you ate was reheated.  I am over two years out and I still can't eat re-heated meat of any kind.  Somehow, the consistency and texture of the meat changes when you re-heat it.  It seems to get rubbery and much more dense.  I think the "denseness" of it is what I have problems with.  I can only eat meat when it's moist and freshly cooked.

Good luck to you and keep the faith!  You'll figure out this whole crazy thing soon enough.
