I just signed up to train for the LA Marathon!  I think I have gone crazy.  I want to thank Scott for providing the information regarding the AIDS Marathon training and I guess I will meet you on October 4th.

I don't think I know what I just got myself into.  It has been a long term goal to run a marathon and I am finally getting the opportunity to do it.

Yeah, I love my RNY but I am also wondering if my dr did something to my brain.  LOL

HA HA HA HA HA!!!  Crazy runner chick!

Welcome to the club!
Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Thank you Monica!  I have to tell you when I read your recall of your experience it brought tears to my eyes.  And than I read about your blisters and pain and said there is no way I can do this.

Thank you for the inspiration!

Funny things happen to your brain when you're out there....blisters, cramps, heat, fatigue etc.  It all means nothing when you know that the finish line is with in reach.

You never will really know what you are capable of until you push yourself beyond your limits.

Run strong!

I don't know if I will be joining you or not, but I will definitely come out and help do a water stop for one of your runs...which will mean extra $$ towards your fundraising goal also!  :-)

Congrats on taking the leap!  It is an experience I will NEVER forget.  You are so lucky have Coach Scott and the other APLA'ers out there for you.

Thanks Kristen!  I look forward to meeting you and I hope I am able to raise the money I need to raise in order to do this.  The good news is I have already raised $200 by getting my mom and a friend to join me in this adventure.

Now, I just have to believe I can do this, because that negative voice in my head is already telling me different.

Here's a hint....Kevin and I got saved because my sister works for WAMU.  WAMU matches all employee donations $ for $.  There are othe companies that do the same.  Ask around and see if anyone can help you get donations matched.

I know all about the negative voice...I still experience it after completing a full marathon and many half marathons (see the "race report" I am about to post...LOL).  I was just having a conversation last night about why it's so easy for others to believe in me, but I can't believe in myself.  YOU CAN and WILL do this!

Kristin did you guys raise the money together or do it separately.  I think I am going to set it up for my mom and I to raise it together.  We still have to raise 3200 but we can do it together so family can donate to both of us.  I think her company might match it, but I am not sure about mine as I work for a cheap nonprofit.  LOL

Thanks for the encouragement.
