New to OH
Hello everyone. I just joined OH today and have been browsing around through proifles and forums and I'm already hooked! Seems like a really positive place with lots of support.
I just started the process with Kaiser . . . "Options". I've gone to 1 class . . . so 23 more to go! lol II have to take 24 classes and loose 10% of my weight. So if all goes well I'll have the surgery Feb of 09. I get to decide what surgery I want to have, and I'm leaning towards the sleeve. I'm 25, and am so excited to finally do something to get my weight under control.
That's it for now . . . just saying "Hi" . . . Happy Labor Day Wknd! =)
Hello!!
How great to read your post. It is super that you are having WLS while you are still young! You will have lots of years to enjoy the new you.
I know that all of those classes sound like a lot of hoops to jump through, but you should have a great deal of knowledge when you are through.
My husband is retired military, and I will be having my WLS this fall at Travis AFB. We had only one info meeting. Thank goodness there are a couple of different WLS groups I belong to so I have contact with others who are going to have the surgery or who already have had.
Also, I went to the Obesity Help Conference in Sacramento last weekend, and I met some great people there. You can click on the "Events" part of the menu to find out if one is scheduled in your are.
Wishing you the very best,
Joyceisready

Hey darlin,
I see we're just new friends. I too have Kaiser and we won't talk about those classes, but get ALL you can for them and focus on your future.
I have the sleeve so if you have any questions please ask away. Be sure to visit us over on the VSG forum...

Welcome, Welcome to the Caliboards!!! Keep on reading profiles and posting and all that good stuff. We are here to be supportive to everyone!
I know there are plenty of Kaiser patients here and I think most of them can say those 24 weeks went by fast!!!
